Sheriffmuir

4.5% abv

Following the Union of Crowns in 1703, Scotland had become a poor country and there was a lot of discontent both with the Government and King James VII. John, Earl of Mar raised the Jacobite standard at Perth and gathered fifteen thousand men to put an end to the Union. The battle that followed at Sheriffmuir was so indecisive that at best it could have been described as a draw. Thankfully this ruby red ale stands proudly in our range and is a born winner.

Stirling Brig

4.8% abv

The battle of Stirling Brig is one of the most famous Scottish battles and was portrayed in the film ‘Braveheart’.

Brewed to commemorate the 700th anniversary of this battle, Stirling Brig is a classic, rich, dark ale with a creamy head and epitomises the traditional Scottish 80/-.

Bannockburn

5.0% abv

Six months after the death of William Wallace, Robert Bruce was crowned King of Scotland, a title not only had he inherited, but also earned due to his fighting skills. By 1314 the only stronghold left in English hands was Stirling Castle. The attack by the Scots surprised the auld enemy and the English had no time to retaliate. They were massacred and many fell and drowned., so many that the story goes that you could walk ‘dry foot’ across the river.
This ale is a pale golden colour with a thick tight head.
